Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Trading Specialist to manage end-to-end procurement activities across a range of commodities. The ideal candidate will lead sourcing initiatives, tendering, negotiating high-value contracts, and building strong supplier relationships while ensuring alignment with company policies, procedures, cost objectives and operational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement commodity procurement strategies that align with company goals and budget.
- Manage end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, RFQs/RFPs/ITTs, vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and order placement.
- Analyse market trends and supplier performance to ensure the best quality and value.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead initiatives to improve purchasing efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legal requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., finance, logistics, operations) to align purchase plans with business needs.
- Develop Commodity sourcing and relevant strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
- Support Commodity Trading team in their role of commodity trading.
- Negotiate with suppliers and constantly review contracts to secure advantageous contractual terms.
- Promote a culture of long-term saving on commodity costs.
- Prepare purchase plans and make relevant reporting on results.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, PMP are desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- 2-3 years of experience in procurement and supply, preferably in a mid to large-sized company and preferably a year in a senior or strategic role.
- Proven track record of managing complex sourcing projects and supplier negotiations.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Language skills: Azerbaijani (native), English (B2), Russian (B2).
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, 1C) and outlook.
- Deep understanding of supplier evaluation, risk management, and cost analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, in high-stress and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Qualifications (Must):
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, Procurement, Economics,
Finance or a related field.
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, 1C) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- Language skills: Azerbaijani (native), English (B2), Russian (B2).
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
